Removing 14 gauge roof screws and re-installing 14 gauge multi-seal (Cyclone Assembly) screws often results in the stripping of the previous hole.
The use of Metal battens has become more common over the last 30 years so this has become a serious issue whilst re-screwing.
The stripping of the previous hole causes loose or non-existent fastening which is quite often fixed by silicone. If not correctly done it frequently causes leaking and water ingress, ceiling damage and damage to personal items and furniture, resulting in costly repairs and delays.
